When you need to get outside and keep some social distance running is a great activity. 


CENTRAL PARK LOOP

This is one of the more obvious jogging routes in New York City, but it still can’t be discounted. This 6.1 mile loop is the perfect length to do either in part or in full. The paved pathway and scenic views of the busy park provide a convenient, entertaining setting to exercise at your own pace. Even if you are looking for a shorter jog, Central Park also offers many other smaller loops.


Hudson River Path

This 15.9 mile path along the West Side provides a scenic walk or run that can be customized to your preferred length. Traveling from Battery Park to the top of Manhattan at 181st St., this path allows pedestrians to start and stop at almost any point on the West side. Running along the Hudson River also offers views of the Statue of Liberty, the George Washington Bridge, and New Jersey.


Lower Manhattan Loop

This route, circling lower Manhattan, creates an extensive tour of NYC monuments during your run. From the State of Liberty and the Freedom Tower to views of Brooklyn and New Jersey, this path offers beautiful views along 9.9 miles. The best part of this path is that you won’t be stopped by any traffic lights that you would see in central Manhattan.


Brooklyn + Manhattan Bridges

These bridges, spanning a total of 5.9 miles makes a great walking or jogging route for anyone, whether a marathon runner or beginner. With the beautiful views, the bridges also have a large number of tourists and pedestrians, so be prepared to go at a slower pace and enjoy the scenery during busy hours. With cars, cyclists, and pedestrians, this path ranks high in terms of its traffic, but well worth the trip for the peaceful experience.


Roosevelt Island

This island, between Manhattan and Queens, offers a scenic route away from some of the chaos of the city. This 3.6 mile route is relatively flat, so it is best for those looking for a shorter, less-sweaty exercise. The best part of this path is that there are no taxis or tourists disrupting your flow.

From 59th Street all the way down to 14th Street, Fifth Avenue provides a low-impact, strength workout for all shopping enthusiasts.
