Marie Kloor and her new brand, Hydra Studios are creating gorgeous spaces to give busy people a place to relax, and freshen up during their busy day. We can't wait to check out this new space!

What's your daily routine?
I try to do a 6:30am fitness class every morning. I'm not a morning person at all, but booking a class forces me to get out of bed. Then I jump on the L and head into Manhattan. While we were preparing to open our first Hydra Studios location (opened 6/10/2019!), I was spending a lot of time with my team getting the studio setup. Can't describe how exciting it is to see it all come together after planning for so long. In the evening, it's usually off to a dinner or networking event. I try to respond to emails at night, then pick up a book and pass out after reading a page or two.

What's your favorite healthy habit?
Meditation changed my life. Before practicing meditation, I had never given myself the time or space to quiet my mind. It helps me slow down, process the day and focus on what's truly important.

What inspired you to open Hydra Studios?
The energy of NYC. Everyone is hustling to squeeze the most out of each day. We're usually out and about more than we're at home, and we're all wearing so many different hats within a day - working, working out, client events, family, friends and maybe some time to ourselves if we're lucky. I wanted to create a unique space that provided essential wellness amenities like showers, steam rooms, vanity stations, locker storage and bookable nap and meditation rooms. Sometimes you need a place to refresh, regroup and get ready to tackle what's next.

Favorite workout?
Spin at Sync Studio in Williamsburg. No frills, dark basement with amazing instructors.

Biggest challenge you've faced in work or life?
Launching Hydra Studios. When we first started, I didn't realize the amount of time and energy it takes to create something from nothing. The lows are lower and the highs are higher when it's your own company. This experience has given me so much respect for all founders.

What inspires you?
New York City. When I first moved here in my early 20s, I was working in finance and had this idea of a set career path. Then I saw so many different people doing so many different things. Really pursuing their passions. This city gave me the kick in the butt that I needed to really go for it.

What's your spirit animal and why?
Golden Retriever. I'm usually smiling and get a lot of energy from being around other people. Total extrovert.

#myrecess is a long hot shower.
